Where We Started
What began as a simple idea soon became an established gathering. In December 2024, a young woman named Monne posted a TikTok video inviting people in the DMV area to come together and watch 2819 Church as digital disciples. That single video sparked something. Five other women responded and began planning alongside her.
As the weeks went on and the work grew more demanding, the team shifted, from six women to four: Monne, Uduak, Joyce, and Ashley. God used each of them to lay the foundation for what would become the DMV Overflow Room.
After months of prayer, fasting, and obedience, the DMV Overflow held its first gathering on March 9th, 2025. And from that moment forward, the story has continued, still unfolding, still being written by God.
Where We Are Now
Fast forward to today, and the Lord has truly blessed us. What began as a small gathering has grown into a family of over a hundred members across four states. Together we devote ourselves to regular Bible studies, seasons of corporate fasting, and initiatives that partner with prison reform organizations, all while keeping Christ at the center of everything we do. By the grace of God alone we have been given the privilege to serve our community and, above all, to serve the King of kings.
As Scripture declares, “My house shall be called a house of prayer.” This is a house that believes in the power of prayer and faith the size of a mustard seed. As we continue to submit ourselves to the Lord, we pray that He would grow us in boldness to proclaim the gospel, standing firm in truth and love, until every ear has heard and every heart has been given the opportunity to know Christ.
